| Abstract;On December 1st 2003, the historical start of Japanese terrestrial digital television broadcasting took place. According to revision of the Radio Law, all the TV broadcasting will be digitalized by July 24th 2011. Television receivers, the hardware, will be replaced by thin-shaped television, which will bring synergism for promoting home informatization. In Hi-Vision, Japan had preceded the other countries by 5 - 10 years but was followed by America and Europe soon. Digital Hi-Vision, if based on the Hi-Vision technologies, will take an important part as a "general information terminal" in household. The author is assured that digitalizing all broadcasting will successful if Japanese technologies and wisdom are mobilized led by Ministry of Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts and Telecommunications. |
