| Abstract;Since 2001 when "Promotion Conference on Quantum Communications Research" was organized, the conference has been promoting "R/D of Quantum Information and Communications Technology", a project of Ministry of Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts and Telecommunications. In November 2003, the Conference released a report, "the R/D Strategy for Quantum Information and Communications Technology" (toward Realizing 21st Century's Revolutionary Network Society). The report introduces the trend in R/D of quantum information and communications technology first, and then states that they should now move to R/D of higher grade of quantum communications / information process technologies based on recognition that quantum encryption technology has entered stage of practical use development. R/D subjects to be focused and technology development road map are shown. Besides, the report outlines the purposes of three projects by industry-academy-government collaboration, and advises to carry out active R/D of this technology field as an R/D strategy. |
