| Abstract;GMPLS is a technology enabling integrated management and control of different layers and paths of packet/ TDM/light wavelength/optical fiber. It is a version made by generalizing the concept of MPLS (Multi-Protocol Label Switching). GMPLS is thought to have advantages of network operating cost reduction for service providers, realizing cost reduction of high reliability networks, creating new service through high capacity line etc. Development of basic functions of GMPLS has already finished and experiments with real implemented GMPLS functions of trouble recovery began particularly focusing on high reliability. In addition, NEC also contributes to standardization of GMPLS actively. |
