| Abstract; The mobile broadcasting is a nation-wide single wave digital satellite broadcasting service for personal users on any vehicle (automobile, train, ship, airplane etc.), which differs from conventional BS/CS broadcasting. It is broadcast by a special satellite (MBSAT, Mobile Broadcasting Satellite) using an S-band wave independent from weather. In the frequency band used by this service allocated by WARC-92 of ITU, transmitting intensity can be enhanced so much that car navigation with small omnidirectional receiving antenna and multimedia service to portable terminals are available. This article shows the main parameters of the mobile broadcasting system, and explains the outline of the broadcasting system (coding etc.), MBSAT, the gap filler enabling ubiquitous receiving and the outline of receiver terminal. Moreover, the status of business and its future growth possibility are mentioned. |
