Abstract;This is an issue of the series for introducing ITU, and explains the activities of ITU-T's SG12-SG17 (but SG14 does not exist now), SSG-IMT and TSAG this time. SG12, SG13, SG15, SG16 and SG17 are each responsible for "end-to-end transmission performance of networks and terminals", "multi-protocol and IP-based networks and their internetworking", "optical and other transport networks", "multimedia services, systems and terminals" and "data networks and telecommunication software", respectively. SSG-IMT is a special study group involved in "IMT-2000 and beyond" (mobile communications) from the standpoint of ITU-T. TSAG is the advisory group for management and strategy of overall telecommunication standardization activitiesSpecific study items and the points of recent activities of each group are described.
