| Abstract; After oral administration to four dogs of enterohaemorrhagic Escherishia coli O157:H7 isolated from a human patient, we examined the inoculated animals for clinical signs, fecal shedding, and hematological conditions. The investigation revealed neither signs of colonization in the intestines nor invasions of internal organs. For a few days after administration, however, live bacteria were observed in the dogs' feces. (author abst.) |
