| Abstract; We examined convulsant effects of prulifloxacin (PUFX) in combination with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) in mice. The effects were compared with those of enoxacin (ENX) and lomefloxacin (LFLX). PUFX (200mg/kg), ENX (200mg/kg) and LFLX (200mg/kg) elicited clonic and tonic convulsions in its oral co-administration with fenbufen (200mg/kg), but did not elicit with etodolac (200mg/kg), ampiroxicam (27mg/kg), mefenamic acid (250mg/kg), aspirin (500mg/kg), indomethacin (25mg/kg), loxoprofen sodium (60mg/kg), diclofenac sodium (25mg/kg) or amfenac sodium (50mg/kg). Convulsant effects of PUFX administrated with fenbufen tended to be weaker than those of ENX and LFLX. These results suggest that PUFX does not induce convulsions in its oral concurrent administration with NSAIDs, except for fenbufen. (author abst.) |
