Abstract;The examination in the title is one of the screening examinations in emergency care, offering much information. Cases requiring immediate treatment (differentiation of cardiac arrest, tachycardic atrial fibrillation of pulmonary edema patient, Adams-Stokes syndrome, myocardial infarction, dangerous arrhythmia observed in poisoning, crush syndrome, torsades de points), contraindication and complication of the examination, items to be prepared, technique qnd practice of the examination, and points/advices, are outlined. Also, diagrams are presented for the minimal items to be memorized for reading electrocardiogram, differentiation of cardiac arrest, atrioventricular block, ventricular tachycardia, PAT with block observed in digitalis intoxication, the position to affix the electrode of chest lead, and the undulatory change in a myocardial infarction example.
