| Abstract;A simple spectroscope is made using a DVD (Digital Versatile Disk) and cardboard. Any DVD, such as DVD-Video, DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW, can be used as a high-resolution grating. Using this spectroscope, one can observe various emission spectra and absorption spectra with sufficient sensitivity and high resolution. Yellow line spectra at 577 and 579 nm of mercury in fluorescent lamp are clearly resolved by this spectroscope. Fraunhofer lines of sunlight can be also observed clearly. Several spectra observed using this spectroscope will be presented. (author abst.) |
