Abstract;Recently, three-dimensional structure of the vicinity of Mn cluster in photsystem II has been determined by a crystallographic study. It is, however, imcoplete to perform analyses of the reaction mechanism of oxidation from H2O to O2, because of the low resolution. The configurations of isopropyl in Val185 and imidazole in His190 were determined by the density functional method. (author abst.)
