| Abstract;A reduction of manufacturing costs is a neverending challenge for manufacturers. Thus, it is essential to raise productivity by improving the process efficiency. The drilling process accounts for the majority of machining. Traditionally, the high-precision, deep hole and fine hole drillings are considered difficult processes. However, these drillings have become highly efficient, making a substantial impact on productivity as the high-speed and high-feed drillings have become more efficient. In addition, the measures to alleviate a negative impact on the environment are under development as they have become imperative in the course of developing the machining technology in recent years.
