Abstract;The disaster is a state in which the medical demand and supply balance collapses suddenly and the decision of priority for large number of the sick and wounded (triage) is important. It is necessary to establish the cycle of thoroughgoing, evaluation and improvement of a plan through preparing of a disaster countermeasure plan and manuals and training in the ordinary time. The description was made in the following order : 1) What is the disaster, 2) Disaster medical treatment system (Lessons learned in Han-Shin Awaji Earthquake disaster, outline of the system, conditions for the disaster base hospital), 3) Management of the disaster site (The triage, temporary measures and carrier are important.), 4) Preparation for disaster in hospital (Grasp of damages in hospital, emergency medical care, judgement on continuation of medical treatment in hospital, disaster countermeasure headquarters, acceptance of patients : Correspondence by hospital side, correspondence in hospital, wide area evacuation : Usefulness of helicopters, 5) Disaster management.
