| Abstract;The elderly people have many diseases which contract suddenly due to the combination and seriousness of the disease, and have characteristics of atypical symptom, individual difference, large injury even by slight external force, unrecoverable disease and the disease with the sequela. Cautionary notes and pitfalls in disgnosing elderly emergency patients based on such characteristics were arranged. The description was made in the following order : 1) Cautionary note and pitfall on diagnostic (Cerebral apoplexy seemed to be other diseases : The elderly people with strange appearance should be noticed, Other diseases seemed to be cerebral apoplexy : Difficulty of standing suddenly can not necessarily be the cerebral apoplexy, Myocardial infarction seemed to be the cerebral apoplexy, Heart failure seemed to be other diseases : Indolent myocardial infarction, patient with myocardial infarction to visit the orthopaedics complaining of shoulder pain, Other diseases seemed to be cardiopulmonary disease : Pulmonary edema and subarachnoid hemorrhage presenting abnormality on electrocardiogram, acute aorta dissociation seemed to be acute myocardial infarction, gastrointestinal bleeding seemed to be angina of effort and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, Gastrointestinal bleeding seemed to be common diarrhoea : "Impossible to stop diarrhoea" of the elderly must be noticed, 2) Cautionary note and pitfall on medical examination, inspection and treatment (The existing disease should be considered. The outlook of the progress should not be optimized.), 3) Cautionary note and pitfall on treatment (NSAIDS should not be administered thoughtlessly to the elderly people. The treatment of the anaphylaxis shock of the elderly people should not be over-treated.), 4) At the end : Emergency medicine for the elderly in the aging age. |
