| Abstract;The primary mission of emergency medical care for psychiatric disorder is the prevention of hurting oneself and other persons based on the mental retardation. The state related to the emergency medical care in the psychiatric department that the general physician could encounter was mainly described. The description was made in the following order : 1) Excitement (Disease states and materials or drugs that induce excitement besides the delirium), 2) Condition of being consciousness disorder (Stupor : Integrated disorder, depression and dissociation), 3) Sedative method (principles, a case in which the sedation accompanied with sleep is required, sedation which is not accompanied with sleep, sedation by the internal use of the drug), 4) Disease states to be introduced to specialities medical institution and timing of the introduction, 5) Legal mattersd to be known when it is introduced to specialities medical institution. When patients who caused mental and behavioral abnormality are met, examination is made on brain organization (brain tumor and encephalitis, etc.) or systemic disease (hepatic encephalopathy, etc.) derivations first or drug derivation (lithium poisoning, antihypnotic, etc.) It is better to obtain and keep information on the window and system, since the actual state of operation on emergency medical care in psychiatric department is different in every local government. |
