| Abstract; The clinical application has been made mainly in Europe in the treatment using ultraviolet ray with new wavelength characteristic such as narrow-band UVB (NB-UVB) and UVA1 (340-400nm). In this paper, the practice of the treatment of NB-UVB was outlined. NB-UVB became a general treatment in most advanced nations, and also in Japan the treatment on the level of general clinic is progressing. Especially, the use frequency is high in the psoriasis treatment. NB-UVB is the wavelength of the width which is very small peak most 311-312nm. There is the effectiveness in psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, vitiligoes, mycosis fungoides, etc. In the treatment of the psoriasis, it becomes clear that the effect excels broadband UVB (BB-UVB), and that it obtains the effect, which is equivalent to PUVA. There is no side effect of whole-body such as gastrointestinal injury and hepatic disorder. The carcinogenicity is estimated to be little as compared with BB-UVB and PUVA from the experimental results of the mouse. |
