| Abstract; With the purpose of obtaining knowledge of the mechanism of the erectile dysfunction, the isometric tension was measured as an in vitro experiment using tissues of corpus cavernosum penis from spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) and Wistar-Kyot rats (WKY) and the results were compared. The heme oxygenase (HO)-2 and neuronal NO synthase (nNOS) gene expression was also compared by RT-PCR. As the result, neurogenic relaxation response induced by electric field stimulation was damaged in SHR, compared with in WKY. HO-2 and nNOS gene expression was similar in SHR and WKY, and Nox value after the electric field stimulation was also similar in SHR and WKY. However, c GMP value and the relaxation response induced by NO donor after the electric field stimulation were smaller in SHR than in WKY. In addition, the thiobarbituric acid-reactive substance value was larger in SHR than in WKY, indicating that the superoxide dismutase activity was suppressed. In WKY, the relaxation response induced by the electric field stimulation was suppressed by HO inhibitor dependently on the concentration, regardless of the existence of NO synthase inhibitor. And, in WKY, the relaxation response was induced by CO saturated solution dependently on the concentration. From the above, there seemed to be a possibility that CO adjust the relaxation response induced by the electric field stimulation in cavernous body of penis of the rat. And there seemed to be a possibility that the erectile dysfunction of the hypertensive rat result from the disturbance of relaxation induced by neurogenic CO and NO. |
