| Abstract; In this paper, piezoelectric ceramics multifunctional tactile sensor was proposed as a new touch sensor, it is used for the material discrimination including shape recognition such as thickness and size of the object. Simultaneously, this proposal technique measures not only ultrasonic property but also electrical characteristic by contacting a pair of piezoelectric ceramics each other, using the electrode applied on the surface. As an experiment, the sample of 3 kinds of thickness was respectively prepared for aluminum and polymer gel as electroconductive materials, and acrylic and silicone rubber as insulation materials. On 12 kinds of measurement samples of the sum total, the propagation time as ultrasonic property and the electrostatic capacity as electrical characteristic were measured, and the material discrimination and the detection of the thickness by the proposal sensor were tried. As a result, discrimination of 4 kinds of materials and detection of the thickness within 10mm from 40mm by the measurement of electricity and ultrasonic property by the this proposal sensor were possible, and the usefulness of this multifunctional touch sensor was shown. |
