Abstract;In this paper, the transformation model of acicular ferrite, the main microstructure in 490MPa grade weld metals, was investigated. Weld metals were maintained at various temperatures, in the range at which acicular ferrite is formed, to investigate acicular ferrite transformation behavior and establish an acicular ferrite transformation model. It was confirmed that the fraction of the acicular ferrite transformed can be predicted by this model. (author abst.)
