| Abstract;Pulsed MAG welding is excellent in terms of: (1) arc stability; (2) spatter generation; (3) welding speed; and (4) porosity for galvanized steel plates welding. Consequently, this method is used extensively for welding thin plates used in automobile manufacture. SEA-1TS improves on these qualities in comparison with conventional wire used for pulsed MAG welding. SEA-1TS wire incorporates the high quality advantages of non-copper coated solid wire which was developed by Kobe Steel. Based on these advantages it was possible to achieve optimal surface tension and the optimum droplet viscosity required for pulse droplet transfers. Consequently, good droplet transferability synchronized with high frequency pulses were realized. (author abst.) |
