Abstract; In order to evaluate the solidification cracking susceptibility in tentative Ni-base weld metals, their BTR (Brittleness Temperature Range) were calculated using numerical calculations (Thermo-Calc) related to the solidification process in the weld metal. The theoretical and actually measured BTR values proved that the numerical calculation method developed was accurate in evaluating solidification cracking susceptibilities. In addition, the relation between the calculated BTR value and the weld metal's chemical components was analyzed with regression analysis. The accuracy of the resultant equation was confirmed to be accurate in a separate trans-varestraint test. (author abst.)
