| Abstract;YAG laser welding has been widely applied with aluminum alloys that are specially designed today's automobiles. YAG laser welding with aluminum alloys faces a number of problems. These problems include irregular weld bead, a low gap tolerance and laser photon loss. YAG laser-MIG hybrid welding solves all these problems. Gap tolerance was improved by increasing the melting width and volume, which has resulted in a much more stable YAG laser process. (author abst.) |
