| Abstract;In order to program arc welding robots efficiently, a new multi-purpose off-line programming software, called K-OTS (KOBELCO Off-line Teaching System), was developed. This software incorporates 3D-CAD data conversion, automatic programming functions (based detailed studies of the welding robot programming), a highly accurate robot simulation function and a workpiece position correction function. With these features it is possible to reduce programming time and improve the quality of the programming. The new software proved itself to be a highly effective tool for programming welding robots.
