| Abstract;Tree-ring width variation, which contains chronological and environmental information, is one useful index obtained from trees. It can be used for temporal and spatial analysis of geomorphic processes. Even-aged stands composed mainly of Abies sachalinensis were found along the channel in Ochiushinai Gully, while standing dead trees buried by debris flows were discovered at the alluvial fan head. They were analyzed dendrochronologically to examine the tree-ring response to debris flow disturbance. The response to high-magnitude disturbance due to debris flow was the death or regeneration of trees, while the response to low-magnitude disturbance was the synchronization of the tree ring-width variation of living trees growing on the debris deposits. |
