| Abstract; The management attitudes of rivers become remarkably different depending on the difference between the rapid and slow formations of the nature and the landform(indicating that the sediments are carried to the river channel from the hillslope). The same is also true of the geological structure and the weather condition.Regarding what kind of effect the artificial modification causes on the landform formation, the multiscale model was considered, which integrates the wide-range catchment and the formation process of the hillslope by redistribution of the river bed sediments throughout many years. The example of New Zealand was presented, in which the dramatic scenic change of steepening of the land due to rapid deforestation was caused, and the matters which become necessary for the land management and the watershed recovery were mentioned. |
