| Abstract; In Japan various problems have occurred as follows: The overflow of the river due to the river bed aggradation with the gravel sedimentation in the river; the decline of the river or the coastal sand beach due to the erosion with the gravel transfer. Some of them occurred within a short period of time, and others occurred after a long term. Both typical examples of these in Japan were introduced, and the erosion control dams and others as mitigation measures against disasters were described. The problem occurring among those countermeasures is a transportation problem in flushing the gravels downstream in the river.Cooperations of individual departments of the administrative authorities become indispensable for this problem. And it is necessary to develop the method for accurately grasping transfer volumes of the gravels. |
