Abstract; The erosion of the above-mentioned Yumigahama beach is a problem having lasted for 80 years. In the tip of the lava dome of the enormous dacite near the summit of the Daisen, the slope failure was widely generated, and a large amount of crushed rocks flows out into some valleys each time there is a heavy rain. But it was demonstrated that the gravels from the Daisen had not made any contribution to the erosion of the Yumigahama beach. This means that the sand arrestation business at the Daisen has nothing to do with the erosion in Yumigahama.Judging from the field observation, it can be said that the gravel particles of the dacite are finely grained(silted) during the transport and then flow as suspended materials and do not become constituents of the beach.
