Abstract; From the viewpoint of zirconia solid electrolyte which was thermally and chemically stable at the temperature over 500.DEG.C., and had result of onboard sensor substrate, we were studied onboard NOx sensor which could detect NOx in low concentration, high-precisely.In this paper, NOx detection cell which used various metal oxide for the detection electrode was made, and mechanism of response of the detection cell was clarified. And, the detecting ability for NOx gas and reducibility gas was evaluated. It was proven that anyway also showed the response based on the hybridization potential on 5 kinds of examined metal oxide electrode. And, the detection characteristics which NOx detection cell which especially, it used Cr2O3 for the detection electrode was excellent was shown in these.Cr2O3 was applied in zirconia laminating type NOx which mounted on the detection electrode as actual onboard sensor, and the detecting ability was evaluated.
