| Abstract;More and More higher level of features and functions such as comfortable ride and pleasant drivability is expected in automobiles and automobile parts every year. The improvement in the quality of high-speed rotary parts used in a transmission directly links to the reduction of sound. While the parts become lighter and thinner for better fuel efficiency, the deformation of hardened parts is becoming a new issue to be challenged. NACHI has developed the Hard Broaching System that enables the correction and finishing of a deformed area of hardened parts after heat treatment with a broach. Hard Broaching System enables the surface finishing of unusual forms of holes like the heat-treated involute spline hole that was difficult to machine in the past, and it also can be used for the grinding of the CVT ball groove as an alternative method. Hard Broaching System made the difficult machining possible with high efficiency and lower initial and running costs. (author abst.) |
