Abstract;Airplane warning light for power transmission towers in mountainous areas was developed by the use of LED which requires low power consumption and low light intensity. LED with high luminance and reflection type having strong directionality was adopted, and the perpendicular and level light distribution characteristics were improved by the development of a globe with slit lens. The structure and light distribution characteristics of the experimental model were introduced. It realized small power consumerization of about 10W which is less than 1/4 of that of traditional models.
