| Abstract;The pattern of the deterioration of manholes was analyzed, which showed that: 1) small tension proof stress because of corrosion of reinforcing steel or no reinforcement, 2) loss of strength against shear stress in upper haunch part by live load (passage of large automobiles). The reinforcement method uses a part with allowance in the strength to reinforce weak parts. Large improvement of the strength is achived by simple reinforcing with a sandwich structure of carbon fiber sheet and mortar only in a haunch part. |
