Abstract; This study develops a system for measurement of CO2 balance of a single potted plant as basic data for the evaluation of forest CO2 balance as a part of studies on global warming countermeasure. The system is composed of a chamber to control the light and temperature, an air inlet which enables to control air humidity and CO2 concentration, and a detector part to measure CO 2 and H 2O concentrations. It affords photosynthesis velocity, soil respiration,an amount of growth and CO2 balance. The measurements were performed on Shiia Sieboldii used for replanting in thermal power plants. The result showed that cultivated soil mixed with palm shell was found to be suitable for cultivatation.
