| Abstract;Tropical Africa has probably a lower level of bryological activity than elsewhere in the tropics. The principal reason is seen to be the lack of materials to assist bryophyte identification, and the resulting reluctance of people to get involved in this area. The solution is seen to be a generic flora of the area, local species-level floras and increased use of the internet to make information available. (author abst.) |
