| Abstract; The number of contact lens users in Japan have exceeded 13 millions, and in future, an increase of the users of far-and-near dual contact lens with aging is expected. Contact lens users tend to contract eye infections due to lowering of oxygen supply to the corneal endotherial cells and decrease of tears, and the corneal infections caused by Pseudomonas or Acanthamoeba, which originates from an improper lens care, are also observed sporadically. Recently, an orthodontic therapy for myopia using orthokeratologic lens (OK lens) has been carried out also in Japan, and the importance of the tests for eye infections is increasing. |
