Abstract; The essential points in the mastery of ultrasonic technique, points in the image interpretation, and image information from the viewpoint of image engineering (picture quality, intensity information which affects picture quality, contrast, sharpness as spatial information, resolution), are outlined. Also, dissection of gallbradder/bile duct, normal ultrasonic image of gallbladder and cautionary points in the examination, and the checkpoints according to diseases (acute cholecystitis, chronic cholecystitis, cholelithiasis, gallbladder adenomyosis, gallbladder cancer, polyp in the gallbladder), are described. The basic scanning for the depiction of gallbladder and bile duct is right bone subcostal scan, right intercostal scan, and right hypochondriac longitudinal scan. As a point in the gallbladder depiction, when the liver is brought to the front (upward) of the gallbladder combining respiration and posture skilfully, a clear image can be recorded. When a side lobe or an artifact by multiple reflection is observed, it is necessary to change the posture and confirm its disappearance.
