Abstract; For acute hepatitis (type A, type B), the frequency, disease state, and clinical symptoms are outlined. Also, for the clinical test values (AST/ALT, bilirubin, blood coagulation factor, synthetic substance/enzyme, hematologic test, tumor marker), hepatitis A virus markers (HAV, HAV antibody, IgM-HAV antibody), and hepatitis B virus markers (HBs antigen, HBs antibody, HBc antibody, IgM-HBc antibody, HBe antigen, HBe antibody, HBV-polymerase, HBV-DNA), the fluctuation and mechanism are described, and a case in a man in 30's is introduced as an actual example. Since the clinical diagnosis of acute viral hepatitis is performed refering to the specific markers, it is necessary to have a sufficient knowledge on the fluctuation of these markers, including the progress with time.
