Abstract;Ray-space represents the set of all rays passing through three-dimensional space. We propose "Free Viewpoint Television (FTV)" which is based on ray-space. FTV is a new television that can generate and display any viewpoint for viewing. However, since cameras are placed separately the ray-space information is discrete. To obtain continuous ray-space data, interpolation is needed. One interpolation approach is the "Look-up Table method" that replaces low resolution EPI with high resolution EPI in a look-up table. Hence, the interpolation performance depends on the look-up table's performance. In this research, the number of high resolution EPIs was increased by using luminance and slope transforming.
