| Abstract;The measurement of BNP concentration is used in many hospitals for early diagnosis of CHF, therapeutic guide or estimation of the prognosis of congestive heart failure (CHF). Since the radioactive diagnosis reagent is used for the measurement of BNP, it is impossible to measure at bedside in Japan. Meanwhile there is a rapid assay kit which makes it is possible to measure BNP in emergency setting in the U.S. There is a prospective study to demonstrate the use fullness of BNP measurement make more accurate diagnosis of CHF in emergency room and it brings shorter admission duration and less cost of treatment. The non-radioactive diagnosis reagent appears in Japan and utilization is expected. NT-pro BNP is more helpful for the diagnosis and the estimation of prognosis of CHF. A quick diagnosis kit to measure NT-proBNP now available in the U.S. it will be possible to measure NT-proBNP at bedside soon in Japan. (author abst.) |
