| Abstract; This paper proposes an estimation system for acquiring pedestrian distribution in public indoor spaces. This system consists of networked terminals and a server. Each terminal acquires distribution and flow of the pedestrians using wide-angle cameras and the server integrates and displays the information sent from the terminals. This research especially focuses on indoor circumstances such as shopping moles and station buildings where the passage traffic changes dynamically and the physical space is limited. Our approach requires limited number of wide-angle cameras that are capable of covering large viewing area even from the ceiling of the narrow passage. Experimental results showed effective performance for grabbing the situation of the pedestrians over time. (author abst.) |
