Abstract;Pyridinium calix[4]arene derivative and the monomeric analogue have been prepared to investigate extraction behavior of some metal anions. Leakage of the present extractants to aqueous phase has been also examined. The leakage was hardly detected. Time to reach equilibrium for the extraction platinum was within 2h and sufficiently quick. From the comparison of extraction behavior for pyridinium extractants employed, the effect of pyridinium functional group is greater than that of the structure, which is cyclic or acyclic.
