| Abstract; The Japan Advanced Trauma Evaluation and Care (JATEC) is a methodology and an educational program of initial management for traumatized patients that was recently developed in Japan. It consists of a primary survey (physiological, ABCDE approach) and a secondary survey (history-taking and anatomical, systemic approach); in this it is similar to Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS). But the precise methods of JATEC are different from those of ATLS, and are more suitable for Japanese emergency medical situations. In this paper we focus on the unique points of JATEC, especially the primary survey. (author abst.) |
