Abstract;Trauma is the leading cause of childhood mortality. Recently, trauma care has been improved, and new standards have been developed through means such as advanced trauma life support (ATLS) and pediatric advanced life support (PALS) in the USA and Japan advanced trauma evaluation support (JATEC) in Japan. In this paper, we review vascular access and fluid resuscitation for the injured child based on these protocols. (author abst.)
