Abstract; The Clinical features of fractures in children are markedly different from those of adult fractures because of some bone characteristics such as anatomical structures and biomechanical properties. Many problems develop because of disruption of normal bone growth as a result of some inadequate treatments for childhood fractures. Therefore the initial treatment of childhood fractures is very important for the prognosis. There are some fractures specific to children: epiphyseal fractures, birth fractures and fractures of battered child syndrome. For their treatment we must have some knowledge about the diagnosis and treatment of these fractures. I introduce the basics of initial treatments for some childhood fractures. (author abst.)
