| Abstract;Laceration is a common emergency in daily practice. Because of the decreasing number of children, parents are more demanding and expecting better care and results than ever; they even expect scars to be invisible. This article demonstrates a series of procedures for children that can be undertaken by plastic surgeons. Surgical treatment for children differs from that of adults in some features. Safe holding during procedure, debridement, suturing technique, and use of other substitutes such as taping and liquid adhesive are discussed. Although full and precise descriptions of wound conditions, necessary procedures, and possible complications and prognosis should be given to parents or guardians, unnecessarily detailed explanations which may cause emotional trauma should be avoided.
