Abstract; We describe here the case of a neonate with life-threatening Kasabach-Merritt syndrome. Long-term interferon alpha-2 a and corticosteroid therapy led to complete tumor regression and resolusion of severe thrombocytepenia without obvious therapeutic adverse effects. The patient showed good growth and development for more than six years, which suggests that interferon alpha-2 a and corticosteroid therapy may be an ideal alternative for patients with Kasabach-Merritt syndrome.
