Abstract; We fabricated organic electroluminescent devices with improved light outcoupling at the air/glass interface using mesa-shaped random dots. An improvement in the external quantum efficiency of 12.5% compared with that of a conventional device was achieved. In the device with random dots, emission without interference, which is a problem for the device with periodical dots, was obtained. (author abst.)
