| Abstract;In machining industry, cost reduction of cutting tools (in other word, the prolonging of tool life) has been increasingly requested while the high-speed, high-performance machining has been progressing ever. In gear cutting, the HSS and coating technologies to improve the hob base material have progressed drastically, and the performance of hob itself has been improving substantially. In addition, Dry Processing (without use of coolant) has been drawing attention because of the increased concerns on worldwide environmental issues. Dry Hob Cutting has been put into a practical use to satisfy such demand. Nachi has manufactured and marketed DuAl-cut Hob (DuAl Cutting of Dry/Wet Cutting Hob 1) in order to satisfy the market need. Furthermore, a new Hyper DuAl Hob that is further improved to satisfy our customers is introduced, and the examples of cutting are shown here. (author abst.) |
