Abstract; There is gas change abnormalities and some symptoms in patients with chronic respiratory failure. For home mechanical ventilation, Noninvasive Positive Pressure Ventilation has a number of advantages over invasive ventilation, including greater ease of administration, reduced need for skilled caregivers, elimination of tracheotomy related complications, enhanced patient comfort, and lower cost. Further work is required to evaluate the effect of noninvasive positive pressure ventilation on reducing the frequency and severity of exacerbation. As is the case in the acute setting, not all patients with chronic respiratory failure are good candidates for noninvasive ventilation. We should have further discusses to evidence for efficacy of noninvasive ventilation in chronic respiratory failure and complete the medical-social management of the patients. (author abst.)
