Abstract; There are many facilities which carry out bleeding time examination (a Duke method using only ears) as a screening examination of the bleeding tendency in the preoperation stage in Japan. However, the Duke method has poor reproducibility and leaves the scar with the pain, and in addition, there is no correlation between bleeding time and hemorrhage quantity in the operation. Therefore, the facilities which stop the daily execution as a screening examination in the preoperative stage increase. The bleeding time examination should be carried out after sufficient listening of existence of the bleeding tendency by the inquiry, family history, existence of dosing, etc., when platelet functional disorder and von Willebrand disease were suspected. In the thrombosis, the appearance of hemorrhage side effect under antiplatelet drug dose is feared with development and clinical application of the antiplatelet drug, and the bleeding time examination is used for monitoring for forecast and prevention.
