Abstract;Corresponding methods, panic values and disease states in each case when reticulocyte abnormal value was high and low were described. An automatic analysis method is the mainstream on measurement of the reticulocyte. The confirmation of existence of the anemia and erythrocyte form in the peripheral blood smear become a point considering hemolysis and flooding in high value of the I. The examination for diagnosing the cause is advised, if the hemolysis is confirmed by biochemical test of LDH, bilirubin, haptoglobin, etc., urinalysis, and bone marrow examination. There is the possibility of low formation and ineffective erythropoiesis in the bone marrow in low value of the I and it is important to observe the existence of anemia and decrease in leucocyte and thrombocyte. The gemmule and cellular atypia are observed regarding leukemia and myelodysplastic syndrome in the smear. It is recommended as the examination to carry out the bone marrow examination first, and to carry out the chromosome examination and measurement of vitamin B12, folic acid, etc. if necessary.
