Abstract;A 22-year-old female was scheduled to undergo video-assisted thoracoscopy (VATS) for bilateral spontaneous pneumothorax. She was diagnosed as Pompe's disease and non-invasive positive pressure ventilation (NIPPV) was introduced at night for her muscle weakness. Although about three days were required for weaning from NIPPV in daytime, she recovered uneventfully after surgery. She was discharged 16 days after operation with stable respiratory status. In this case much effort was required for her mental care. (author abst.)
